A Personal Note from Dr. Nichols

Signs of spring are here!

I’m writing this on my train ride home from the American Academy of Dermatology national conference in Washington D.C. As always, I return from this meeting reinvigorated and full of excitement about all the new technology and procedures coming down the pipeline. Perfect timing for the opening of our new office in a few months!
While I was away, some of our NicholsMD staff attended Taste the Towns, a Greenwich Hospital fundraiser that honored EMS professionals in Greenwich, Harrison, Port Chester, Rye and Rye-Brook.
Andria, Vanessa, and Emily are all smiles at the Taste the Towns event!
On February 25th, the whole team also attended Westchester Girls Night Out, an event which promoted awareness of heart disease, risk factors, and symptoms of a stroke. The models in the Girls Night Out fashion show were heart-disease survivors and medical doctors from the Heart and Vascular Institute in Westchester. It was a beautiful evening that motivated our NicholsMD staff to seek CPR certifications. We’d highly recommended the CPR course that is offered by the Greater New York Chapter of the America Red Cross in our own Greenwich community!

Enjoy the warmer days!
We look forward to having you in the office soon to help you feel beautiful, confident and ready to live your best life today and every day.
Best,
Dr. Nichols

There’s No Magic Bullet for Perfect Skin, but Retinol Comes Pretty Close

While it’s true that there is no magic bullet when it comes to perfecting skin, one ingredient comes pretty close: retinol. It’s the reason we’re featuring SkinMedica’s 0.5% Retinol Complex as our product of the month!

We all know the importance of before-bed beauty treatments; your skin’s repair mechanisms work overtime while you sleep. But, if the treatment also features retinol, you get a bonus: wrinkle smoothing, glowing, youthful-looking skin.
Retinol speeds up cell turnover and stimulates collagen production. With consistent use of a topical retinol in your PM skincare routine, you can see improvement of fine lines, dark spots, texture, and tone. While retinol is one of my favorite ingredients for anti-aging products, it’s also my recommendation for acne-prone clients. It helps to clear blackheads and whiteheads, reduce inflammatory pimples and visibly reduce acne scars. Contrary to some popular belief, retinol (best mixed with moisturizer) is perfectly safe to use under the eyes, neck, and chest!
