PRP with Micro-Needling
What is PRP?

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. The platelets in our blood are cells designed to heal injuries and are filled with our own natural growth factors. The platelets in our blood are cells designed to heal injuries that are filled with our own natural growth factors. This makes them exponentially more effective than synthetic growth factors in rejuvenating our skin and hair follicles!*

A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area. The patient’s blood is drawn, spun, and the PRP is separated and prepared for use. The numbing cream is removed. The area is then treated with passes of micro-needling with PRP. The procedure takes about 30 minutes. The patient will experience redness, maybe some pin-point bleeding which is easily wiped away after the treatment. Redness subsides in 3 to 5 days. Treatments are spaced 3-4 weeks apart with 3 or 6 treatments needed, depending upon what is being treated. Visible changes will develop over the course of several weeks.*

Ideal candidates for PRP Treatments:

  • Fines lines or moderate wrinkles
  • Moderate skin laxity
  • Diminished texture, tone, color
  • Large Pores
  • Acne Scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Photo-aging
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Hair regrowth in age-related balding or other forms of hair loss

Anti-Aging:
Micro-Needling is a treatment by which controlled and precise micro-injuries to the skin are delivered by a high speed automated needle tip comprised of 12 tiny micro needles. This results in the production of new collagen and elastin. It also creates micro-channels for deeper penetration of topical serums containing active ingredients such as growth factors, vitamin c or hyaluronic acid or platelet rich plasma (PRP) for combination therapy. An exfoliating microdermabrasion can also be added to the treatment to further enhance results. In addition to the face, micro-needling is safe and effective to use on numerous parts of the body including the neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.*

After a micro-needling treatment, PRP is placed on the skin and immediately penetrates deep in the skin through the micro-channels to markedly promote collagen growth, regenerate tissue and speed up the skin’s repair process. In turn, the skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with softer wrinkles, less scarring and improved skin tone.*

Hair Loss:

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, an innovative technique that is already being used for non-surgical facial rejuvenation, is now also available for the treatment of certain types of hair loss. PRP therapy can harness the power of your body’s powerful natural growth factors to reactivate inactive hair follicles and trigger new hair growth.*

The process of PRP therapy begins by drawing one small tube of your blood in our office just like a routine blood test. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge and the PRP is separated and removed from the rest of the blood. The highly-concentrated PRP is then injected into the scalp. The PRP scalp treatments are done in a series of 6 treatments done once per month.*

Stretch Marks:

PRP is used to improve the appearance of stretch marks. After preparation of the site, micro-needling is performed on the stretch marks while PRP is applied. The powerful growth factors and regenerative cells in the PRP then infiltrated deep into the stretch mark areas, stimulating collagen and elastin regrowth. This helps to make the stretch marks smaller, thinner and less discolored. A series of multiple treatments are necessary for optimal results.*
