A Personal Note from Dr. Nichols

Happy 2015! I hope your new year is already off to a wonderful start. Relatives are gone, decorations are put away, and now it’s time to get back to business. And what better way to begin the year than to make a pact to take care of yourself. And winter is the best time of year to take action. With sun intensity at its lowest, these next several months are ideal for getting procedures/treatments done that will dramatically improve your face and body, and get you picture-perfect for summer.

And at NicholsMD, we have some new Winter 2015 Specials that will make you want to run in and get started!
1) Laser Hair Removal – Purchase any large area package (6) and get an upper lip package (6) FREE! Start now to be hair-free by summer.
2) Fraxel Laser – Purchase a package of Fraxel treatments (3 or 6) and get a package of Illuminize Peels (3 or 6) FREE! Essential for maintenance after Fraxel.
3) Liposonix – Purchase a large area of Liposonix and get 1 small site FREE! It takes 3 months for the inches to melt away after the treatment, so get it done now to be slimmed down by summer.

One of our clients before and after 2 IPL treatment for sun spots.
We are also launching the two new NicholsMD Signature Packages – the Ultimate Uplift Experience and the Age Reversal Experience. For those of you who really want to turn back the clock, getting one of these packages is a must! I’m really excited about them and you will be too. And the savings are awesome! More information about all the treatments and goodies they include to come in a few days.
As we say here at NicholsMD, this is your year to feel beautiful (or handsome?), confident, and ready to live your best life today, and every day.
Best,
Dr. Nichols

5 Easy Tips on How to Save Your Skin This Winter!

Dry, cracked hands; sandpaper lips; flaking legs – we have all experienced the ravages that this icy and windy weather can reap on our skin. So here are some tips on how to prevent the winter weather dry-up (a few of which may be new to you).
1) Moisturize your whole body twice a day. – once right after bath on moist skin (it penetrates the skin much better) and once at bedtime. Use ointment-based moisturizers (ie. Aquaphor) or heavy cream-based moisturizers, not lotions, during winter.
2) Cracked dry hands.– throw a small tube of moisturizer in your bag and moisturize your hands every time after washing them. And for those of you who have particularly dry hands, wear cotton liners underneath wool gloves. Wool can further irritate already dry skin.

3) Eat a lot of olive oil. – it’s one of those essential oils that hydrates skin from the inside out. And feel free to lather it on your skin and hair too.
4) Wear big sunglasses. – sunglasses are not just for summer. They can also protect delicate skin around the eyes from cold wind and strong UVA rays.
5) Don’t turn the heat up too high. – I know it feels cozy but you’re much better off piling on the blankets than turning up the heat. All the moisturizer in the world can’t save you if the heat is too high sapping the moisture out of your skin while you’re sleeping.
